Tech Wars, a competition between 95 regional high school students from North Dakota, was held March 22, 2018 at Valley City State University. The competitors were tasked with creating a maze and programming specific game play requirements in MIT's Scratch environment. Teams were rewarded points based on software requirements criteria and speed. Winners received a $500 scholarship and a GoPro Camera, Amazon Echo and VR headset with speakers for 1st, 2nd, or 3rd place. A Nintendo Switch was also given away as a door prize.

2nd Place: Jamestown High School-Kory Miller, Dylan Kelstrom, Charolette Reimers & Jackson Arends
3rd Place: West Fargo High School-Derek Johs, Gus Ridgway, Laten Hagen & Shane Hitch
CSSE faculty and Jamestown Regional Entrepreneurship Center organized and sponsored the event in cooperation with VCSU ACM Student Chapter. Industry sponsor DSIA provided funding of the scholarship awards. More pictures of the event can be found on our Facebook page.
